This may seem like a stupid question, but in every carfloat photo or diagram I've ever seen, they all have a switch on or directly adjacent to the carfloat. For the incredible expenses of transporting by carfloat involved, why don't they run three tangent tracks onto a carfloat? In your example, there is room for at least two more (possibly 4 more) boxcars, for what seems like a minimal investment of a 30'-wider ROW. What am I missing?
Thanks,
